Student Scholarship Program

Your subscription to provide a student scholarship for a selected child is an investment in his or her future. Just 25 Dollars a month allows your student to finish his education through High-School, and vastly increase his or her ability to create a poverty free future.

 

Finishing one's education, in India, opens a vast number of doors that remain closed to the majority of the poor- this is espeically true for the children of Tibetan refugees...

Simply because parents are not able to pay minimal school fees or buy the required uniforms and school supplies. Poor children typically end their education after the 5th class.

 A small scholarship to cover these expenses drastically improves the chances of a full and rewarding life for a child.

Family Initiative Program

Give the family of a selected child the means to take the initiative to improve their standard of living by starting a new business or improving an existing one.

Often only a few dollars is missing to get a micro-business off the ground, and create a much needed source of income for the family.

Your "Challenge Grant" to the family creates this opportunity.

 The grant is given on the condition that the family matches the grant in kind with money and/or labor. Thus the family "buys in" to the project with motivation, and does not feel that they are simply being given charity.

(Experience has shown that giving "Aid" only, has little long term effect on the financial well-being of the family)
